Balancing and Testing Pool Water

It’s a way to measure the acidity of alkalinity of water. This is the most important part of chemical balance because if protects the equipment, helps the sanitizer do its best job, and increases swimmer enjoyment.

It’s the amount of the alkaline components in the water. TA acts as a buffer against rapid pH fluctuation. This can be caused by environmental factors such as acid rain, pollution, run-off from the surrounding land, and fertilizers – just to name a few.

Keeping the TA at the proper range will help prevent equipment problems if it’s too low and help prevent scale from forming if it’s too high.

Common Problems That Occur in Chlorinated or Brominated Pools

It’s the amount of dissolved calcium in the water. Keeping CH at the proper range will help protect equipment and keep water sparkling. It also helps prevent cloudy water.
